Thank you for considering St Mary’s for yours or your child’s baptism. Our Baptism services are held on the 1st/ 3rd / 4th & 5th Sunday of the month at 12.30.
Baptism is a response to God’s love, a desire and a commitment to respond to God’s call to follow the example of Jesus Christ. It is also a celebration, a time to come together with family and friends; remembering that you are loved by God, are part of a wider community and have a place with God’s people.

Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child Service
This service is different to a traditional baptism. It is designed to meet the needs of parents who see this as either a preliminary to Baptism; or may not wish their child to be baptized immediately, or do not want a baptism but recognise that something has happened for which they wish to give thanks to God.
On the 20th November Emmie Grace Kerr was Christened at St Mary’s. Born into a large family we were worried about how we would keep all her cousins and small friends quiet and engaged throughout the service but we needn’t have been. The service was so family friendly they were all made to feel a part of it and having all those relaxed parents in church made the service an enjoyable and special experience for everyone.
I had my son’s Christening here a year ago. The church is so friendly and welcoming. They did everything we requested and it was a fantastic service. It is a beautiful traditional looking church with the sun shining in through the stained glass windows. Truly feels special. I will be using for my second child’s baptism. Highly Recommended.
Wish to thank everyone at St Mary’s, we had the most beautiful day and for the best baptism.
